Mahindra's New Scorpio: A Powerful Automotive Vehicle

Yeah! It is Mahindra's New Scorpio - A Powerful Automotive Vehicle. I know one question may rose in your mind that what is the thing that everyone can say it too powerful? The reason is, its 2.6-litre CRDe engine has been replaced by the advanced 2.2-litre mHawk engine on all variants. This makes the Scorpio the first model that complies not just with Bharat III but also with the yet to be implemented Bharat IV emission norms. When we are talking about going green, the top of the line VLX variant is available with a micro hybrid system. Revving the mHawk engine , through City traffic and on open roads , is a pleasure as the advanced mill is far more responsive and generates an impressive amount of torque as compared to the CRDe motor.

The start-stop hybrid system has ameliorated and operates smoothly. Even on standby mode, the A/C functions full blast. The moment you want to move on , the transition is smooth and responsive. M&M’s Micro Hybrid technology , developed with support from BOSCH, allows the engine to switch into standby mode when not required thus conserving fuel. It automatically detects moments during the drive when the vehicle is idle and switches off the engine. This technology is available on the VLX and the M2DI variants of the Scorpio. The start-stop system can get slightly annoying to people who are generally impatient , like me. I had to switch off the Micro Hybrid technology exactly seven minutes from the time I started driving. Yes , I feel guilty as I might have burned more fuel but it was way too much fun!

Here are some of the similarities that the new Scorpio carries over from the XYLO like the gear knob, however, it could have been a little more stylish. Other features like the Park Assist are a great help especially for a vehicle of this size. The dashboard looks neat and comes equipped with a 2-DIN audio system and new interiors. Our car sported black interiors which were not too impressive but the tan and beige option looks far better. The digital immobilizer is also a new feature which we wanted to see in the Scorpio for some time now. We are sure that M&M can foretell that many potential Scorpio buyers might opt for the XYLO simply because of the latter’s brilliant pricing. To avoid that , the firm has slashed the Scorpio’s price by Rs 34 , 000 to Rs 70 , 000 depending on the variant.

Car AC : Tips To Tackle With Car AC

Do not turn on A/C immediately as soon as you enter You’re.... CAR!

Please open the windows after you enter your car and do not turn ON the air-conditioning immediately. According to a research done, the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener emits Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen - take note of the heated plastic smell in your car). In addition to causing cancer, it poisons your bones, causes anemia, and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer may also cause miscarriage.

Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq. ft. A car parked indoors with the windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level... & the people inside the car will inevitably inhale an excess amount of the toxins.

It is recommended that you open the windows and door to give time for the interior to air out before you enter. Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver, and is very difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.

Honda Jazz - An Excellent Car With Good Looks

Just another a 4 Wheeler in the category of a small car with a view of making it big in small car segment in India. The small car segment has been the most competitive segment, especially in India where customers in significant numbers look for a small car at minimum budget range. So, it is quite understandable that Honda has come up with a small car in order to tap this market. At the same time, the Company has wanted to maintain its reputation by positioning the car in the luxury range, so that it makes a big impression like that of its most successful cars Honda City and Civic.

It is my experience when I looked at first sight at the Jazz, I can be assured that it makes a good impression on road. I can also not help but feel that if the same model was introduced earlier than i20, it would certainly have made the best impression. Once I enter the car, the interior comfort gives a sense of getting into a luxury car. The seats are comfortable with cushioning and spacious legroom, and they justify the statement of "One life, why so serious?".

The power of 90PS with 1.2L Ivtech engine justifies and boosts confidence in the Honda cars. With the track record of the successful Honda New City, definitely we need not worry about performance. At the same time, the Features of the base model are a setback, as it comes without climate control, alloy wheels etc. Indeed, the test drive I took was very impressive and the car's acceleration, handling and breaking all proved good.

It could have certainly made a big success with the same price if launched earlier than the Fabia and i20, but now its seems to be too late. With the earlier rumours that Hoda might have priced the the car around 4.5 Lac, many customers would have planned to switch over to Honda for hatchback but now the option goes back to Swift, Indica Vista, and if budget is little higher then i20 and only at the end, consider New Honda Jazz.

Yeah! It is an excellent car with good looks, but simply too expensive.

Fiat's Grande Punto : A Cool Car

Yeah! It is the perfect time that Fiat India has launched the Grande Punto - A Cool Car, while buyers are looking for options in the premium hatchback segment, at prices and segmentation higher than the B segment cars. The much awaited Honda jazz was launched recently, and for the customers who thought that the price of the Jazz is too much, the answer may well be The Grande Punto.

At the first look of the Punto, the car gives the impression of an internationally acknowledged car available for a drive in India. Tellingly, while I was at the launch event, one of the customer said he had already booked the car and acknowledged how eagerly he was waiting. He had booked it purely based on the looks so he was quite satisfied with Punto even before it was launched.

The front portion of the car looks just like the Linea. The Sideview is quite good but does not make a very significant impression. The rear portion looks very decent, similar to the Linea and gives the impression of a cool car.

I think, among the ranges of such category cars from other competitors you can think to get this cool car and keep the prestige of yourself.
