Volkswagen Beauty "Polo" : I Don't Know When It Comes?

Yeah! It is the fact that nobody can deny the strength of the small car market in India. It is the world’s largest auto market for small cars and any auto maker who intends to generate volumes needs to seriously have its presence in this segment. Volkswagen will launch its small car Polo in India early next year. The model will be launched both as a hatchback and a sedan within a gap of 6 months of launch. Polo hatchback is expected in early 2010 while Polo sedan will be launched in the latter half of next year.

Volkswagen’s plant near Chakan is already operational and Polo will be manufactured at the same manufacturing unit. It currently assembles its models Jetta and Passat at this plant. Volkswagen also sells luxury car Phaeton and SUV Touareg in India which are imported as completely built units from its mother plant in Germany.

Nissan March/Micra Welcome to India

Yeah! It is the time to welcome Nissan March/Micra to India. Nissan is preparing to launch its small car model March in India. The new model will be manufactured at its Chennai plant from next year. The car is sold as Nissan Micra outside Japan and is expected to be christened as Micra in India as well. The production for the same will commence in March 2010.

Nissan intends to launch the next generation model of Micra in March next year which will be available internationally, two months before the Indian launch. Nissan also intends to shift its production base out of Japan and as per the latest ongoing plans, Micra for Japanese Domestic market will be manufactured in Thailand and for the rest of Asia the manufacturing base will be China and India.

Nissan recently launched ‘Leaf’ as its zero emission and eco-friendly car in Japan. It is the latest environment friendly car that does not even have a tail pipe! It is the first electric car that has a seating capacity of 4-5 people and can be aptly termed as a completely commercial passenger car.

Its a Special Edition of Mercedes C Class

One more car from Mercedes! German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz launched the special edition of its C-class model in India yesterday. The new variant is available both as petrol and diesel model priced in the range of Rs. 28.46 – 31.30 lakhs. The new models sport various add-on features like 17′ inch Avantgarde alloy wheels, media interface for ipod connectivity, Avantgarde design front and rear bumpers, new sportier avantgarde grille (three pointed star integrated in the front grille) and electrically foldable outside rear view mirrors with new arrow shape turn Indicators.

Mercedes has launched only 60 units of the new model and the same will be available at all dealerships across the country. The C-Class has been the star of young achievers & dynamic individuals whose lifestyle is a celebration of aspirations, ambitions and drive. Mercedes-Benz acknowledges such spirit and dynamism and Mr. Gaganjeet Singh Bhullar embodies these characteristics on and of the golf course.

Mercedes holds the position of second largest luxury car maker in India. It lost its numero uno position to BMW that has launched new models in the country and has also launched several attractive schemes on periodic basis. Although Mercedes launched M class and another E class variant, these new efforts have not had the effects to enable Mercedes to gain its position back. This special edition C class models is yet another effort to infuse sales.

Get Affordable Ride with Two-wheelers LPG Kit

Yeah! It is true. Now you can get affordable ride on the Two-wheeler too. It is the latest buzz in the automobile segment in India is introduction of LPG kit on two-wheelers.

LPG kits fitted to four wheelers have now inspired people to fit LPG to two wheelers also. Though many people have tried to implement the same (and maybe some of them successfully), the latest in the news is that a person from Chitradurga of Karnataka has implemented the LPG kit to his Hero Honda Splendor. He has also taken patent from the Government of India for the same.

A small cylinder is fitted to the front grills and a kit fitted near the rear wheel cover and a pipe connection is given to the carburetor. The kit is said to give 120KM per KG of LPG. The advantage of fitting LPG kit is obviously the reduced expenditure of the fuel.

It will be interesting to know the complete details regarding the LPG kit. Complete information about fitting the LPG kit to two wheelers, their advantages, disadvantages, safety, and practicality.

Fixing the cylinder in suitable position,
Hose connections
To fit converter kit

Advantages:

1. Reduced expenditure on fuel costs.
2. Possibly better for environment

Disadvantages:

1. Not completely safe as the chances of two-wheeler falling on ground and making impact is always there.
2. The limited size of tank.
3. Increased maintenance costs.

The disadvantages remain to be answered as well as the RTO status for the bike. We are working on providing more details regarding the same.

It's a happiest journey of Maruti

Yeah! They sold 80 Lakh Marutis in India. The big market leader in todays arena "Maruti Suzuki India has passed a significant event in their and people's life of producing 80 lakh cars in India. The company is still India’s largest car manufacturer and the second largest car exporter. Maruti accounts for every second car sold in India and dominate the small car segment that accounts for nearly two-third of the overall car sales in India.

The first car rolled out on 14 December 1983 from the Gurgaon plant. Maruti currently has its two plants, the second being at Manesar near Delhi. So far the company has manufactured 81,05,228 units from its two manufacturing unit. MSIL manufactured 27 lakh M800 all these year and at least 25 lakh units were sold in the domestic market alone.

Now Maruti Suzuki is looking at new business avenues. It is already setting up an India-exclusive R&D center in Bangalore which will be responsible for the development of new designs and models exclusively as per the Indian customers. It is also ready to ship its batch of 54000 units of A-Star which will be sold as Nissan Pixo in the UK.
